The Transaction Origination Platform (TOP) by Efficient Forms, LLC intelligently gathers information, originates business transaction requests, and delivers the resulting information to the intended destination in a completed PDF form or XML data document. The power of creating and maintaining the platform is in the hands of the business analyst rather than software engineers, and the horizontal design of TOP originates and tracks transactions or events in virtually any business vertical.
Dynamic Interview with Logic
With extensive experience in transaction origination, Efficient Forms finds
that the form is not the best method for gathering information required
at the origination of a transaction or event. Rather, utilizing a dynamic
interview with logic, the originator participates in an interactive question
and answer session and is only asked questions that are pertinent to
him/her. The reflexive interview also has extensive validations that
can be easily configured by the business analyst to ensure the origination
of the transaction or event is complete.
Corresponding Rules Engine
TOP offers a corresponding rules engine, allowing the business analyst
to following a similar process for establishing rules on web pages, questions,
forms, mapping, and other areas of the application. The business
analyst enjoys easy-to-follow, clearly-defined steps to create and review
rules.
Configurable Transaction Origination Workflow
TOP is vertical independent and is configured with the appropriate workflow
based on the needs of a specific transaction origination problem. The
business analyst, with specific knowledge of an entire transaction or
event, designs the types of portals accessed by each level of the value
chain, including the rights and roles of each participant. The
business analyst also customizes the verbiage using industry-specific
terminology and determines statuses, like “approved,” “rejected,” or “ready
for consumer signature,” to cover the full lifecycle of the transaction
or event as it moves between parties in the value chain. In addition,
the business analyst configures the different triggers required at each
stage of the transaction.
Multi-level Hierarchy
The business analyst easily configures TOP to the nth level of
hierarchy. There are no limitations on how many levels are included, and
the business analyst decides how many levels of the value chain are needed
and what rights each participant has at each level.
Electronic or Manual Signatures
TOP uses electronic and manual signatures, and both types of signatures
can be used in the same transaction. Often, this is dependent on the
vertical and problem. When electronic signatures are allowed, TOP can
easily use different types of electronic signatures. TOP also ties together
with electronic vaults, including third party for non-repudiation.
Supplemental Documentation or Attachments
TOP captures all forms of supplemental documentation needed for the overall
origination of a transaction or event, and the business analyst configures
these types of categories. The originator uploads or faxes documents
into TOP using bar coded cover pages, and once captured, the documents
join the overall transaction through each stage of the value chain. An
example of a supplemental document is a driver’s license.
Real-time Development Environment for the Business Analyst
TOP is specifically for business analysts, not programmers. While the business
analyst is constructing the interview with logic, he/she can see the
creation in real-time. The business analyst development environment allows
the designer to view the page layout, web controls, style of text, and
other without understanding HTML or any programming languages.
Uses Existing Form Designers (Adobe, Microsoft, etc.)
TOP does not produce original forms. Rather, it works with the end result
of different form creation applications. The majority of forms imported
into TOP are currently created by Adobe products in a PDF format - the
current world standard for sharing forms. TOP also adjusts to work with
products from Microsoft or other form creation companies. Existing forms
are fielded using a consistent Efficient Forms naming convention and
are easily imported into TOP. Moreover, TOP uses the existing forms found
in business today, and this flexible design retains the exact look and
feel of forms that have cleared the formal approval process.
Import Form Fields
The form is a “dumb” or “flat” display of information
gathered in TOP. All aspects of the logic reside inside of TOP rather than
on the form itself. Using the consistent Efficient Forms naming convention,
forms inherit mappings from a master document which holds all of the different
fields found on a package of forms. By setting up a master form document,
the business analyst reduces the amount of time it takes to create the
mappings between the interview variables and the fields on each of the
forms.
